Firespiral Moonlit Twilight Birch Trees
100% combed cotton
Firespiral wraps are woven in England. The two ladies behind the brand are experienced babywearers and design the wraps, source the materials and seem to be very passionate about creating the best possible wrapping experience.
The first thing I’ve heard about Firespiral slings is the fact that they are soft. Not just ‘soft’, but extremely kittenbellysoft from the start! Of course I felt the need to try a Firespiral ever since.
Firespiral designs seem to be inspired by nature and the universe. I have tested Moonlit Twilight Birch Trees and I love how this design looks when wrapped. The wrap is indeed soft from the start, which might be because of the blend (combed cotton), but I’ve heard even the linen blends are soft from the start!
The weave is very cushy, airy and it feels like a loose weave without being prone to pulls.
This will be a great wrap for a beginner, no breaking in needed and it’s very forgiving. Even in a crappy wrapjob this wrap will be comfortable on your shoulders. The contrast between both sides is very pretty, both sides are beautiful but I think I prefer the ‘wrong’ side. The indigo blue is a rich colour and I love how it looks next to the (almost silvery) grey weft.
With 68/69cm the wrap has a nice (average) width. This is a perfect rucksack wrap, because of the cush. It’s nice and soft on your shoulders, even with a heavier baby. The wrap is very moldable, easy to wrap with and the passes glide into place effortlessly. I love how smooth the wrap feels, with the top and bottom part being more grippy (because of the pattern).
With my toddler I prefer a multilayer carry (double hammock) because of the stretch. For a short walk a rucksack was surprisingly comfortable on my shoulders, but it really shines in a DH with a smooth chestpass!
This wrap is a nice allrounder. Great for beginner, but also a pleasure for experienced babywearers. Soft from the start for your newborn baby and supportive enough to stay during toddlerhood.
