Summary:

This will be a great summer wrap for your toddler. Airy, heat regulating, very supportive. No bulky knots, great grip and nice to wrap with. This is suitable for a beginner if you are okay with some breaking in. It will take a few wears to experience the true qualities of this wrap. Don't judge it on the first try.

One year ago the brand Linuschka was mainly known for high quality handwoven wraps. But with the release of high quality machinewoven wraps in great blends and nice designs, Linuschka made themselves well known as a machinewoven brand too.  I’ve been testing three designs: owls, mermaids (petite sirène) and boutons.

Bouton is french for button, I’m not sure if that’s the reason for the name but I could see why. The design looks like circles, the circles are striped and this give the design a modern look.

Mojito has Linuschka’s signature 100% peruvian pima cotton warp. Peruvian Pima cotton is an extra long staple (ELS) cotton, primarily grown in Peru. Pima cotton is shorter than egyptian cotton but it’s softer than normal cotton. The weft is a combination of linen and wool, which will be perfect for winter and summer due to the heat regulating qualities of both materials.

This wrap is a bit thicker than the all cotton Linuschkas I tried, but will also get very soft. It might need a bit of breaking in because of the linen percentage and it can show some irregularities (typical for linen yarn).
This blend is very supportive and cushy. It does feel ‘woolly’ without being prickly. After breaking in it will be suitable for a small baby, but I think I would prefer something with a little bit more stretch for a newborn.

This tester is a size 6, which is perfect for multi layer carries, but I think a shorter wrap would be great too. I would love a size 3 for RRRR or a rucksack carry. Just put this shorty in your bag for your ‘just walking’ toddler and if you have to wear him/her for over an hour your shoulders will be thankful for bringing this wrap ; )

The lime green is the perfect shade for a summer feeling and suits the pattern very well.

This colourway has already been released, but hopefully there will be other boutons in the future. You might get lucky and find this one on the second hand market!

The releases are very limited, they sell on etsy, www.linuschka.de and the releases are announced on their Facebook page.
