I have been looking forward to test a Meeyoo since I saw the first pictures on Facebook. The colourways are fun, very well coordinated, beautiful, these wraps somehow make me smile!
I love the middle marker (Meeyoo logo = cute). The pink/purple matches my hair perfectly, it made me happy when I heard that this particular wrap would be visiting me. I like Pog Pog (a rainbow grad) too, but with Frida it almost feels like it was made for me (or at least, for my hair) 😉
First impression: a thin wrap, soft, feels smooth, airy, very inviting! I would compare it to Omega Organics or Etla (thickness).
This wrap has a nice drape, it glides nicely, making passes is very easy because the wrap isn’t very grippy. I’ve used it in FWCC, Ruck (tibetan knottless finish and normal tibetan finish), Double Hammock and I even tried a tandemwearing carry (Double Hammock with a FWCC finish in the front).
I love thin wraps, I think this wrap will be perfect for summer, airy but supportive!
It definitely is perfect for a small baby, soft, no breaking in needed, supportive enough for single layer carries. For a toddler (my daughter weighs 14kg) I would recommend multi-layer carries and I wouldn’t finish it off with a knotless finish. The wrap is not grippy enough to stay in place when you’re using a knotless finish with a heavy kid. (with my 8kg baby it did stay in place over hours)
The width is perfect, wide enough to use throughout your whole babywearing period.
You will love this if you like thin wraps, don’t like (too much) grip, and when you prefer wraps which are soft from the start.
If you are wrapping with a thin wrap, a neat wrap job is very important, especially with a heavy kid. I didn’t experience the wrap to be diggy, but one time I didn’t spread the wrap properly and it did cut my shoulders (wearing my toddler).
I hope I’ll be lucky enough to get a Meeyoo to live with me someday, Frida looked great in my stash 🙂
The first ring slings were sold by draw on the Meeyoo Facebook page, there is a release of Diego & Frida coming up. Just keep an eye on the Facebook page for updates!
